DAY 1: ARRIVE IN HANOI

You will be warmly welcomed upon arrival at Hanoi airport and transferred to your hotel by our driver. Free for the rest of the day. Meals are on your own. Overnight in Hanoi

DAY 2: SIGHTSEEING IN HANOI > NIGHT TRAIN TO LAO CAI

Morning pick up and enjoy a day sightseeing Hanoi city including Ho Chi Minh complex (Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, Ho Chi Minh Museum, Presidential Palace, Stilt House and One Pillar Pagoda). Continue to visit the Temple of Literature – the first University of Vietnam. Lunch at local restaurant. Then, visit the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology. Return to Hanoi Old Quarter for a walking tour to discover daily life. Return to the hotel. Self-sufficient dinner. Freedom until transfer to the train station for your overnight train to Lao Cai. DAY 3: LAO CAI > SAPA – TREKKING TO THE VILLAGE

Early morning to Lao Cai. Travel to the breathtaking scenery of Sapa (home to many ethnic minorities in Vietnam) with our local guide. Have a local breakfast in Sapa before walking to the villages. Sneak through the market and leave the bustling town behind before heading downhill to the idyllic Cat Cat village. Stop by the waterfall and hydroelectric station for a while. Walk through the rice terraces and enjoy the breathtaking scenery while walking along a narrow river. Head to the Black Hmong village of Y Linh Ho, where you can rest while lunch near the river is served. Head to Muong Hoa valley, then pass through Lao Chai village of the Black Hmong and then Ta Van village of the Giay. Walk along the valley for views and swim in the nearby river. Dinner and homestay with local people.

DAY 4: TREKKING MORE – SAPA > OVERNIGHT TRAIN TO HANOI

Depart for Giang Ta Chai village of the Red Dao people after breakfast. Trek through bamboo forest in Hoang Lien National Park. Pass by a dreamy waterfall, rest and enjoy the surroundings. Find a nice place to enjoy lunch. Continue going towards Su Pan, a small village located on the side of the road. Return to Sapa by car. Free until transfer to Lao Cai station for your overnight train back to Hanoi. Self-sufficient dinner. Overnight on the train

DAY 5: HANOI > HA LONG – SHUTTLE BUS – GROUP TOUR

Morning to Hanoi station, transfer to your hotel to check in and have your own breakfast. Waiting for bus to Halong Bay trip. Arrive in Ha Long at noon and board a traditional wooden boat/yacht. Enjoy your time for relaxing, sightseeing and swimming. Visit the Floating Fishing Village and swim if the weather permits. Meals are included. Overnight on the train

DAY 6: HA LONG > HANOI

Wake up on the bay to the sound of waves and birds to welcome the new day. Watch the sunrise over the bay and after breakfast visit a beautiful limestone cave. Walk back to the boat for one last view of Halong Bay while heading back to the pier. Drive back to Hanoi. Self-sufficient dinner. Overnight in the capital.

DAY 7: HANOI > HUE

In the morning, transfer to Noi Bai airport for flight to Hue. Upon arrival at Phu Bai airport, you will be transferred directly to your hotel. In the afternoon, you will begin a city tour, including the Imperial Citadel and Forbidden City, the Royal Museum and Dong Ba market. Have dinner at your own expense and stay overnight in Hue.

DAY 8: HUE > HOI AN

In the morning enjoy breakfast at the hotel before exploring the ancient capital. Cruise the Perfume River by boat. Visit Thien Mu Pagoda and Minh Mang Tomb. Lunch at local restaurant. Transfer to Hoi An in the afternoon after passing through Hai Van pass and visit Cham Museum with handicraft village at the foot of Marble Mountains. Check in hotel in Hoi An and have free time to explore the town. Self-sufficient dinner. Overnight in Hoi An

DAY 9: HOI AN FREE DAY

Free day in Hoi An to shop or explore the old town. Meals are on your own. Overnight in Hoi An. Vietnam tour

DAY 10: HOI AN > FLY TO HO CHI MINH CITY

In the morning, transfer to the airport for a flight to Saigon. Arriving in Saigon, the car takes you back to the hotel to rest. Free for the rest of the day. Meals are your own. Overnight in Saigon. Vietnam tour

DAY 11: HO CHI MINH CITY > CU CHI TUNNELS – GROUP TOUR

In the morning, enjoy a half-day excursion to the legendary 200km-long Cu Chi Tunnels, which was heavily damaged by landmines but still played an important role in the War. In its heyday, Cu Chi was specially designed as a multi-purpose tunnel system used as a residential area, a warehouse, and a command center. However, the violent past has been erased by the peaceful idyllic rice fields with ducks and buffaloes living happily. In the morning, visit the tunnels and watch a short video about how the tunnels were built. Spend the next hour exploring the tunnels. After that, enjoy tea, cassava (food of guerrillas during wartime). Back to Saigon. Free for the rest of the day. Meals are on your own. Overnight in Saigon. Vietnam tour

DAY 12: HO CHI MINH CITY > MY THO > BEN TRE > HO CHI MINH CITY – GROUP TOUR

Morning pick up at the hotel then leave Saigon, enjoy the scenic journey along the National Highway. Visit Vinh Trang pagoda in My Tho, leisurely take a boat along the river, see stilt houses, orchards and fishing villages. Continue to Hon Rua, have lunch in the orchard. Sail to An Khanh – a less touristy attraction in Ben Tre, enjoy a cruise on a rowing sampan. Enjoy seasonal fruits & honey tea with local influences of “Southern Don ca tai tu”. Visit a family business that epitomizes the idyllic rural lifestyle. Enjoy delicious coconut candy and observe the farm life of the locals. Take the bus back to Saigon.
