2. Vietnam is the paradise of food
With the combination of hot sweet, sour, salty, healty herb, and vegetables, many different kinds of meat, Vietnamese food is so unique and cheap, it’s so easy to reach a foodstore even few steps away from your hotel.
You can choose affordable street food, such as phở, bánh cuốn, and bánh mì and sit on the squatty plastic chairs on a sidewalk or sit at a small local shop and enjoy a meal. This can set you back about 10,000-50,000 VND ($.44-$2.20). So cheap! Try these:
Pho: it’s considered as national dish – Noodle, meat broth, and herbs
Bun Cha: a must try one – Bun (soft rice noodle) with pork bbq, and spring rolls
Cha ca: made of ground fish mostly, served with herbs, and onions
Goi cuon: Fresh spring rolls with noodles( bún)
Nem: Fried spring roll, there are different kinds of meat in it as lean – minced pork, sea crabs, shrim, mushroom, and dried onions
3. Travel
It’s more convenient when you use the app called GRAB, much cheaper than traditional taxis, howerver, it’s just popular in Hanoi, HCM city, and some big cities
4. Shopping
Although street good is cheap but you need to practice your bargaining skills when you go shopping in Vietnam. If you’re at a local market and you’re interested in buying something, don’t forget to bargain. Most of the time, they don’t mark the prices. The first price stated is often way overpriced, so you can bargain for half the amount listed and go on from there. You’re welcome to walk away at any time.
